THE GHANA STOCK EXCHANGE (GSE, https://gse.com.gh/ ) MADE A GOOD IMPRESSION DURING THE LAST WEEK. THE COMPOSITE BROKE THE 3,000 MARK FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE A RELATIVELY LONG PERIOD. MENZGOLD AND NO END…

IN THE LAST WEEKS, THE GHANAIAN WHATEVER FIRM MENZGOLD HAS AT LEAST OCCUPIED PART OF THE MEDIA. WHATEVER FIRM I SAY, BECAUSE PROBABLY NOBODY KNOWS UNTIL NOW WHAT KIND OF FIRM IT IS. QUESTIONS ARISE WHETHER IT FALLS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THE SECURITY EXCHANGE COMMISSION (SEC) OR NOT. NOW MENZGOLD HAS OBVIOUSLY DRAGGED TWO GHANAIAN INSTITUTIONS TO COURT. THE GHANA STOCK EXCHANGE ((GSE) SHOWED A SOMEWHAT INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT. USUALLY, BOTH THE COMPOSITE AND THE FINANCIAL GO INTO THE SAME DIRECTION. THIS WEEK, IT WAS DIFFERENT.

DO GHANAIAN BANKS ADHERE TO IFRS, ESPECIALLY IFRS 9?

 

IN THE LAST YEAR, PEOPLE DICUSSED A LOT THE COLLAPSE OF GHANAIAN BANKS. MANY PEOPLE AND INSTITUTIONS  ATTRIBUTED PROBLEMS OF THESE BANKS TO NON-PERFORMING LOANS (NPL).
